I’ve got outdoor decorating on my brain.
I blame Marshall’s and Pier 1 for this.
I was shopping around for my next $30 Thursday project last week, but I wound up wandering the outdoor décor aisles at both of these stores.
Everything is so bright, colorful, and summer-y, which makes me long for the sound of crickets chirping, the smell of the grill, and the taste of corn on the cob or watermelon….or both!
Last summer, I didn’t really have the time to focus on our outdoor areas, but this summer I’ve got plans for our deck! I want to paint a bench that my grandma gave me, I’d like to get new chairs for around my table, and I’d like to add some fun accessories here and there.
Here is what is inspiring me so far:
I’m a sucker for an owl. I want this little guy from Marshall’s to come home with me.
How cute are these yellow bird cages? I want these too, but my gift card could only go so far…
CUSHIONS!!! These Pier 1 cushions have me drooling!
I think 4 yellow chairs would be PERFECT around my outdoor table! Hmm..do I buy these from Pier 1 or find some that are cheaper and spray paint? (Or should I worry about finishing my bathroom before I start thinking about painting outdoor furniture?)
Outdoor decorating feels liberating to me. I can go with bright, bold colors without being worried about it matching everything inside.
I think I’m going to try harder to have more plants and flowers outdoors too. Last year my mom did one potted floral arrangement for my front porch, and I forgot to water it..It needed to be watered like a few times a week. It was too hard.
How do you decorate outdoors?
