Happy $30 Thursday to you!
{Sung to the tune of “Happy Birthday To You.”}
I just love beachy decor!
It is one of my favorite styles of decorating.
No matter that I live nowhere near an ocean!
My aunt was in Florida recently, and she texted me pictures of some really cool seashell art.
I was inspired to grab some of my seashells out of the box labeled “seashells” in my basement and make my own DIY Seashell Art!
The frame that I used for this project started out as replica of an oil painting.
I saw it at Goodwill, and I loved the ornate frame, so I snatched it up!
Oh! And it only cost $6.00!
I spray painted the frame with two coats of “Heirloom White” by American Accents {not pictured}.
Next, I wrapped the “painting” in a sheet of burlap. I secured it with hot glue.
I love this DIY Seashell Art.
But I have a problem…
I have too many places in the house I want to put it!
So, for now anyway, she’s hanging out on my bedside table with some more beachy items!
{Miss L will not leave the seashells in this jar alone….she just can’t help her little hands from pulling allllll of the seashells out.}
I added a starfish, a little milk glass jewelry dish, and my favorite beach read to my bedside table.
{The book is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.}
I love how summery and beachy the DIY Seashell Art makes my bedroom feel!
I may not live near the sea, but one of my $30 Thursday cohosts does!
Jen lives in Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA.
I know. Who actually gets to live in a place with a name like that?!
I need to buy a plane ticket. ASAP.
Jen is showing us how beautiful teaching tools can really be with her Kids Learning Board.
{I just love her tag line…”because teaching tools don’t have to be ugly.”}
Shayna never disappoints! Her DIY Recipe Box looks like store-bought perfection!

April – I just love your inspiration on what to do with basically a kind of ugly frame and picture – it is just incredible what some spray paint, some burlap and some gorgeous sand dollars will do 🙂 I change over our bedroom suite to a beachy theme for summertime – I may have to put some shells into some of my vintage Ball jars – I do have a granddaughter that will definitely want to remove them, though 🙂 It’s amazing the things that mattered when I my children were small don’t matter at all with my granddaughter LOL – Love your blog – Happy Spring 🙂 Dorinda

Thanks so much, Dorinda! I think my parents would totally echo your sentiment about letting the grandkids get away with so much more! 🙂

I love this, the frame and the burlap material is great together. I love the simplicity of the white and the light brown. I just did a shell art feature on a wall. And I agree shells and anything coastal is a great way to decorate. It brings such life into a room. I came across you from the roadkill rescue and I am excited I found your blog!
