I distinctly remember thinking to myself that by the time we got to June’s $30 Thursday post, I would be SO CLOSE to my summer break!
Well, here we are….and I am indeed so close!
{3 more days….but who’s counting?}
I happened to stumble upon the most amazing garage sale the other week.
It was the kind of garage sale that had me wishing I had more cash in my pocket!

I saw this adorable little wicker chair sitting front and center when I drove by.
Do you scope out garage sales from your car, while driving by real slow and creepy-like before you decide if you’re going to stop or not?

I pretty much knew exactly what I wanted to do to give this chair a little more charm and character.
I brought it home and sprayed it with “Bright Idea” by Krylon.

I wanted to add just a little detail to the bottom of the chair’s legs, and I’ve always wanted to try the “dipped” look.

So I taped of the bottom of the legs with painter’s tape and brushed on a few coats of “Heirloom White” by American Accents.

Easy. Peasy. Lemon-Squeezy.
Let’s see what my $30 Thursday pals came up with this month:

I love Jen’s Latitude/Longitude Sign! What a great way to personalize the mantel!

I’m smitten with Shayna’s Easy Chalkboard Pantry Sign! Β Delightful!
Have a great day!
love it! SO cute! π
Thanks, Jen! π Love your sign too!
It looks fabulous! I love that yellow.
Thanks, Anne! π
Lucky you! Love the yellow in the re-paint! I’ve been looking for that chair, although I’m hoping to find one with rockers on the bottom. I really need a couple of those for my front porch. π Enjoy that great find!
Ooooh! I would love a rocking chair version too! π
I LOVE your wicker chair makeover!! Yellow is such a cheery color, perfect for Summer!
Thanks so much, Selene! π
I love that yellow! what a great makeover!
You’re so sweet! Thanks, Bette
Lovin this sunny little make over on your wicker chair…I have been using a pop of yellow in my guest bedroom makeover. A color I didn’t think I would use in a room, but I am lovin the progress I am making with the room so far. We have much the same taste in decor as I have the same clock that is hanging on your door behind your chair! and I just finished a post on what to do with old doors… π Too funny!
I love using yellow! It’s so cheerful! I also love an old door, so I’m going to have to check your post out! π
I love the color! Thank you for sharing.
Oooh I love a good yard sale find! This turned out beautifully– I love the color you chose! Pinned! Hope you’re having a great weekend, April!
~Abby =)
Yellow is my fav! I love your chair – so sunny and bright! I’m pinning! (And yes, I am known for slamming on the breaks if I see something at a garage sale!) π Please come link up at Merry Monday Linky! We’d love to have you! Julia
I just saw this on Pinterest and wanted to comment on my 2 finds of Wicker chairs. I purchased Satin Strawflower in Spray cans, and while it’s not as bright as your yellow, it will be a muted yellow for the Southwest. But, I like the white legs as an added touch. Do you suggest a Matte spray to seal the color in, so maybe it doesn’t fade quickly? Thank you! Teresa
