When my blog was still just a wee little baby, I posted about one of my favorite furniture transformations of all time: my daughter’s chalkboard table.
It has become quite a fixture in our home. I love how it subtly suggests “a kid lives here!” without being obnoxious. {Moms with lots of toys in your house know what I mean!}
Here is what the table and chairs used to look like. I picked them up at a garage sale on the same day we moved into our new house!
The table was an easy fix! First, I sanded and primed the whole thing. Then, I painted the base with American Accents “Heirloom White” The top got two coats of Rust-Oleum’s Chalkboard Paint in “Black Finish”. I used a brush for both the base and table top.
The chairs were a bit of a different story. After brushing white primer on both of these chairs, I vowed to never brush paint these spindly little chairs ever again. It took way. too. long. So, I spray painted them with Krylon’s “Blue Ocean Breeze”.
This little table is so much fun to decorate for the seasons…I just had to share a few shots of it all decked out.
Let’s see what my cohosts came up with for this month’s Get Your DIY On Challenge!

Love mini table sets for kids! I did a similar thing for my kids, but used blue chalkboard paint on the table tops. Love seeing their creativity!
