I will show you how to make a photo display from an old window in this DIY tutorial.
My friends. We are coming upon a very important day in the Hoff house…Miss L’s 3rd birthday!
{Yippeee! *Sniff* Wahoo! *Sob*}
I typically get very emotional, reminiscent, and excited all at the same time when her birthday rolls around. Being a mom is such a paradox, no?
As the big day approaches, I’ve been making some decor pieces that go with the “Cowgirl” theme of the party.
Photo Wall Display
My first big project is this old window turned creative photo display. I found the old window frame at an antique store and loved the rustic wood. It had been just sitting around in the garage, and I finally decided to do something with it.
I unrolled some chicken-wire and used a staple gun to attach to the back. Even though I liked the look of the chicken-wire photo frame, but I had to back it with something and luckily I had some burlap on hand, so burlap it was! Then I used the staple gun {again} to attach the burlap to the back of the frame. Finally I pulled and stretched it as much as I could as I stapled it to the back of the window frame.
I think it makes the perfect unique photo display for this cowgirl birthday party, don’t you?!
As you can probably tell, I took Miss L. out to some local stables to take some pictures of her in her cute Halloween costume {which will double as her birthday party outfit!}
…and just because I’m a proud Mama, here are a few shots of Miss L.:
I’m just so proud of this smart, sweet, sassy, test-every-limit, give-lots-of-kisses, band-aid-obsessed, princess-dressing little girl!
I always think back to where I was three years ago at this time: Nearly 9 months pregnant, scared, excited, curious, uncomfortable, and ready to meet my little girl. If I could go back in time and assure myself that all will be well, that your little girl will be healthy, and you will be a great mom, I would…
😉
Let’s see what my friends came up with this month for our $30 Thursday:
Shayna’s Thanksgiving Burlap Placemats add the perfect rustic touch to the table, don’t they?
I just LOVE Jen’s Pottery Barn Inspired Advent Calendar!
Have a great day!
I love this, April! Can’t wait to see more from Miss L’s party. I know it will be super cute…just like her 🙂
Thanks, Erin! It’s gonna be good! 😉
Great idea! I love the idea of using old window frames for peeking into our lives… 🙂 I remember those days as a mom to a spunky girl! My little girl is 20 now and graduating college in the spring. (gasp) My how time does fly! But it just gets better and better! ~Julie
Ha! Thanks, Julie! If time goes as fast as it already has, then I’m in trouble! 😉
