To say that I’m cuh-razy excited to reveal Miss L’s new “big girl room” today is a total understatement!
From the very beginning, I’ve had a pretty clear vision for what I wanted this room to be: I wanted it to be feminine, sweet, and vintage-inspired.
Oh! And I really wanted to do a statement wall with a sweet floral wallpaper that would pull the colors of her room together.
I lucked out. Big time. When I came across the Budguette Bari J. Removable Wallpaper from Wallternatives I knew it was the perfect wallpaper for Miss L’s room. The gorgeous colors, vintage look, and feminine flowers had me at hello.
The best part about this absolutely gorgeous wall paper is that it’s mess-free and completely removable/repositional. {More details on this at the end of the post.}
I love the way this beautiful wallpaper ties all of the greens and pinks of her room together.
Her big girl bed and new bedding are other new developments in this room…Now if I could just get her to stay in her bed at night, we’d be set!
I love to style her shelves, too bad they don’t stay this way for long! 😉 I framed some left-over wallpaper to pull the pattern and colors across the room.
I added some sweet birdcages to the decor. I like the vintage and distressed look of these beauties.
With some of the left over Budquette Bari J. Removable Wallpaper I created some DIY artwork for an empty wall. {Tutorial coming soon!}
Miss L. is learning her letters, so we have to spell out the word LOVE every time we look at it. I tell her, “I made this for you because I love you!”…which she totally digs. 😉
Isn’t it sweet? It adds the perfect touch to her pretty room!
Ok, so this wallpaper is, as I mentioned before, the Budquette Bari J. Removable Wallpaper from the Wall Appeal Collection over at Wallternatives. When I found out about this amazing product and saw this print, I was immediately interested in trying it! The idea that we can easily remove this wallpaper (if we ever want to) without damaging the walls, or going through the painful process of wall paper removal is so appealing to me! It will literally peel right off!
To install it, we drew a straight line down the center of the wall. As carefully as I could, I placed the 2′ x 4′ panels along this center straight line. It took a couple of tries, but I was easily able to pull it off and reposition it if I needed to. It never lost its “stick”, even when I had to peel it off and try it again a few times.
When I got to the bottom of the wall, I used my fingernails to really press it into the crease on top of the trim. (A couple of times I used the green blade that you see to push it into the crease, but it was completely unnecessary.) Next, I used a sharp utility knife to cut off the excess, and just pulled off extra. It was really simple!
I’ve never hung wallpaper before, but my dad, who has hung quite a lot of wallpaper in his day, was very pleasantly surprised with this product. We commented over and over about how impressed we were with how I could pull it off and reposition it. We also loved that we didn’t have to mess with sticky wallpaper glue, water, and a bunch of extra supplies. The only supplies that you really need are the wallpaper panels, a ladder, a level (for making your first straight line) and a utility knife.

I hope you love this room as much as I do! It’s my new favorite spot in the house! 😉
Have a great day!

Dear April, I’m sure Miss L. is loving her room so much. My 3 year old granddaughter just transitioned from crib to big girl bed too. She just loves her room and has to show it off every time we come for a visit. But, like Miss L. is having a hard time staying in bed, so is our little one once it’s bed time. She doesn’t mind it for nap time but maybe she just wants to cuddle at nite.
I love the wall paper and it looks so easy. I was thinking about doing a feature wall behind our headboard and that looks like the best option. I jumped over to they’re website and they have some beautiful “grownup” ones also. I really like Miss L’s.bed. I am looking for something similar only in queen size for our guest room, is yours an antique ? Well you take care, have a great day tomorrow. Love the whole room. Sincerel, Diena
Thanks so much for your sweet words, Diena. The bed is not an antique, although it looks like one! 😉 It was actually a hand-me-down from her cousin, and I’m not sure where they got it? Sorry I was not more helpful!
This is such a sweet room. I love the color combos. I am thinking of putting some wall paper in my laundry room but have never done it before. This looks like something I could do.
Adorable!! Where did you find the white dresser? Love!
It is a painted family piece! 😉
What a sweet room. I’m about to fix up a bedroom in my my home so our 4 year old granddaughter can sleep over. I’m still deciding what style I want to go with. I was thinking a bit more modern but now that I see your daughters room I’m not sure. I love both styles. What’s a grandma to do?
Lily’s room is really cute. I really love the letters of her name above her bed, the love sign, and her pillows. Overall love the room. How old is your daughter? I have two girls myself – 2 and 3. I eventually want to get twin beds for them and update their room.
Thank you, Julie! She is 3…and a total hand full! I can’t imagine having a 2 and 3 year old! eeeek! 😉
This is suuuch a posh little girls room! I adore the owls and the flower print you chose is so sophisticated. A perfect little-big girl’s room I’m sure she loves it.
Thank you SO much, Sam! I’m not gonna lie, I love this room so much!
Hi April! I looooove how the wallpaper ties in the pinks, green and turquoise in the room. It is gorgeous! I would love to know what color green paint that is on the walls? I’m painting my daughter’s room pale green and it is so hard to find one that doesn’t look too bright or blue. Thank you!
Thank you so much, Laura! I totally hear you on the green dilemma! I wish I could be more helpful, but we painted that room years ago (before I had a blog and kept track of paint colors), and I ended up having the paint people at Menards custom mix a color that was in between two shades on the color swatch. So, I have no idea what that color would be! Again, sorry I’m not of more help to you! 🙂
