Decorating goes in phases and moods for me…
When January rolls around, and the glittery holiday decor is taken down, I feel a need to decorate simply.
Our small foyer/entryway had pretty much remained untouched by my redecorating tendencies for a long while.
I was ready to switch it up, so I took out the bench and throw pillows, refinished an old table, and set up a little vignette under the mirror that has always been there.
I picked up a new lamp and frame at Marshall’s with this little spot in mind. I think it sets the perfect neutral tone that I’m going for.
I snipped a few pine branches off of the pine trees in our back yard and stuck it into a simple ball jar. I think it adds just the right amount of seasonal detail!
I love the way this little vignette came together!
Do you love this little snow owl peeking out from under the table as much as I do? I purchased this pillow cover from Society 6. It’s a watercolor created by the very talented artisit/blogger Lucy Akins who blogs over at Craftberry Bush. I love her work, and I’m sure you’ll see more decor items of her’s in my home in the coming seasons!
….and just for fun, here is the table {with the black paint already sanded off of the top} before I refinished it with some white paint on the bottom.
Are you decorating neutrally this January?
Have a great day! 😉

What a pretty little vignette April! I am so on board with the neutral feel for winter!! I love that pillow:)
Thank you, Krista! I know, isn’t it awesome!?
Yes, I am going more neutral this January! I’m going to put textural white pillow cases on my turquoise sofa pillows, and I’m about to paint over our yellow living room walls with a warm white paint. I’m just ready for a fresh, “quieted” feel in the house. 🙂
Love your vignette by the way! The little lamp is adorable.
Ooooh! Love the idea of different neutral textures! It will be gorgeous!
That looks so pretty!! I also love to decorate. I want to do more in my home.
Love this vignette! I too am decorating with more “quiet” neutrals this winter and just posted my wintery mantel yesterday! :). Happy New Year April!
