Welcome to Part II of my Holiday Home Tour 2016!
Today I’m participating in “A Very Merry Christmas Home Tour” hosted by the lovely Carrie from Lovely Etc. If  you are stopping by House by Hoff for the first time, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I hope you’ll leave inspired and happy! 🙂
Today I’ll be sharing my holiday kitchen and dining room!
This truly is the best time of year, don’t you think? And there’s really nowhere else I’d rather be this time of year than home. I love being home. The older I get, the more home-bodied I get. My life motto seems to be, “Why would I leave? I just want to be here.” 🙂
This year’s holiday decor follows a similar aesthetic that I seem to return to year after year. I like cozy plaids, vintage pieces, bright pops of red, and my go-to color: blue.
When I set up my kitchen for my holiday home tour, I knew I wanted to stage it for a meal. So, I popped some waffles in the toaster and covered them with fresh fruit and powdered sugar. My husband’s jaw nearly dropped to the floor when he saw what I was up to…You see, I am not much of a cook, and I rarely actually make breakfast, so to see that I could actually make a toaster waffle came as a complete shock to him. 😉
I whipped up this fun antique-inspired “Christmas Trees” sign a few weeks ago. It was inspired by something I saw online, but wanted to knock-off for much cheaper!
The dining room looks so different than it did last year. With a new light fixture and some new(er) open shelving behind the table, the options for decorating seemed limitless. I kept the shelves basically the same, but added vintage pops of red to the decor.
I am completely smitten with these sweet reindeer from Hobby Lobby. They look so old-school to me, and they just make me happy.
I swear, every year I end up throwing some red ornaments in jars, and they seem to be the missing piece to the puzzle. I loved the flocked greenery with the antlers in the olive bucket as my centerpiece, but I knew my table still needed something. The answer? Jars with red ornaments. Duh.
And the ornaments don’t really even have to match, in my opinion. The ornaments in the jars are a mishmash of what I’ve collected over the years.
Did I mention how much fun I had decorating these shelves? I just love all of the vintage pops of red!

Thank you so much, Erica! I love your tour as well! So classic and beautiful! 🙂
I just love your style! And those antlers in the bucket is perfect! I should do that, I have random antlers sitting around everywhere! Do you think a big elk antler would look too out of place 🙂 lol.
Your tour was beautiful!
Thank you so much, Alicia! I say stick those elk antlers in a bucket and call it a day! Ha!
Great decor! Love the pops of red!

Can I ask where you bought the open shelving rack?
Yes, they’re from Hayneedle.com! 🙂
This is just lovely. I love all the touches of plaid! And I had to giggle at your husband’s response to your waffles. That sounds familiar. (I’m not much of a cook either. Cereal counts as a homemade breakfast right?)
Haha! If cereal counts as a homemade breakfast, then consider me a chef! 🙂 Thanks, Kim!
hey girl love your kitchen! So pretty!
Thank you, Shawnna! 🙂
A jar of ornaments! Love that idea!
