Today I am sharing with you my Halloween vignette and I will tell you a couple of tips and tricks to putting together your own vignette.
You want to know something funny?
I didn’t think I was going to decorate for Halloween this year.
I had lots of good reasons why I wasn’t going to too: Too busy, too tired, too many dishes to do, too much laundry to put away, yadda, yadda, yadda.
….and then I found the MOST AMAZING vintage records with orange labels at a local garage sale.
And the Halloween decorating was on.
I just love the way this Halloween vignette came together!
I have a few go-to tricks I use when putting together a vignette. My favorite way to add height and lift display pieces up a few inches is stacking them on vintage books. In this case, I wrapped some in scrapbook paper and left others uncovered. I absolutely love the combination of covered and uncovered vintage books.
The only new things that I bought for the display were these funny, sparkly crows from Hobby Lobby. Miss L. adores them too. 😉
This old witch {sorry, old witch}, is a favorite Halloween decoration from my childhood. I remember thinking she was really cool when I was probably 5 years old or so.
I rescued her from my mom’s garage sale pile a few summers ago.
This is my favorite photo that I shot of the vignette. The colors, the contrast, the title of the book, the reflection of the polka-dots on the surface of the table…I just love it!
My Boogie-Bones Garland made with vintage records is a big hit with Miss. L. She loves the skeletons!
Miss L. is getting very perceptive of her Momma’s decorating. She told me, “Oooooh, it looks SO beautiful!”
She also told me, “You are my favorite artist.”
Ha! I love that little girl!
I’m so glad you saved that old witch…she looks perfect on your vignette! This looks perfect for Halloween 🙂
Thanks, Erin! My decor isn’t as glam as yours, but at least the crows have a little sparkle…no? 😉
So charming! I pinned the vignette picture. Sometimes it is hard to find cute and not gory Halloween pics and ideas…..yours is simply, well….. charming!
This is great, there are so many small details I love about it!
LOOKS GREAT! Love the mix of colors, patterns and how you incorporated so many vintage finds!
Thank you, Jen! 😉 xo
I always love your vignettes, April. You’ve got such a great eye! Thanks for linking up at the Pretty Preppy Party!
