This pretty DIY “LOVE” wall art is simple to make and creates the perfect ambiance!
Would it be too cliche to say that I LOVE the wall art I made for Miss L’s big girl room?
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!
It adds the perfect ambiance and finishing touch to an empty wall in her room. The feminine wall paper and distressed wooden letters just go together so well, don’t they?
It was so easy to make the wall art too!
1. I had a few of my Budquette Bari J. wallpaper panels left over from Miss L’s big girl room makeover. So I grabbed one and cut it to fit around a 20″ x 20″ canvas. I would say I left a 2.5″ margin of extra paper, so that I could easily wrap it around the canvas.
2. After wrapping the paper around the edges of the canvas, I used my staple gun and stapled the paper onto the back of the canvas. {Make sure that your paper is pulled as tight as you can get it before stapling!}
3. I purchased some 9.5″ wooden letters from Hobby Lobby, and then painted them with Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint (which can be found in many colors from Hobby Lobby…who knew?!) ย When they were dry, I sanded them until I was satisfied with their distressed look.
4. To secure the letters into place, I hot-glued them to the canvas. So easy!
When placed just above the rustic turquoise two-toned table that I refinished last year, I think it looks great!
…and what a timely DIY wall art project for Valentine’s Day, no? ๐
