I love to add little simple touches to the house for the changing of the seasons, and my mantel is one of my favorite places to decorate. If you’re joining me from Town & Country Living, welcome! One change to the mantel is the book page backdrop behind the old window. It seems like every time I see a book page wall, I drool. I’ve always wanted to create one in my house, and it just seemed like a good idea to start small by making a little mini-book page wall behind the window. I’m “testing the book page waters” so to speak…
I’m in love with the subtle statement that these old book pages behind my Dahlia Flower Mirror. I think the book pages will stay up for awhile…
{I created the book page backdrop by ripping out book pages and scotch taping them to the wall…it was that easy.}
I know this is a mantel hop, but I thought I’d go ahead and show you around the whole living room today…because, why not? 😉
Nothing says summer like seashells, and seashells speak to my soul, so creating a seashell tray with some of my favorite shells I collected on the beaches of Mexico on our honeymoon (almost ten years ago…wha?!) was a quick summer touch that I added to the coffee table.
And, for the record, I did not find that starfish myself…that was store-bought. I’ve never managed to find a real starfish on a beach…
Seashells, like antiques, really add something special to a space, don’t you think? They add so much character and texture to a vignette. They tell stories…
