Summer is just around the corner! I can just feel those boat rides and lake days coming! We’re kicking off summer in style during our Summer Seasonal Simplicity home tours! I’m sharing my summer kitchen today. I ended up going with simple and colorful vintage pieces to create a cheerful summer kitchen. I was SO excited that my peonies bloomed just in time to take some summer shots of the house. I wait allllll year long for that bush to bloom, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone out to check on it. It’s a little ridiculous, actually. 😉
I ended up with a bright cheery little vignette for the island using vintage glasses I found at a garage sale a few years ago and this adorable tray from Wayfair. (It’s sold out at the moment.)
Do you garage sale? I feel like you either are into garage sales, or you aren’t. I happen to fall into the first category. I looooove me a good garage sale. I can remember just about everything I got at a garage sale, and exactly which garage sale it was. I distinctly remember finding those turquoise striped glasses at a garage sale probably three years ago. I’ve never used them before now, but aren’t they cute?! I’m a sucker for vintage accessories.
About a year ago we completed our kitchen makeover, but we just got our new appliances, which really make the kitchen look done. Like done done. I’m not spending another penny in this room. 😉
Another sweet vintage touch is this jadeite bowl I grabbed at an antique store recently. I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for antique jadeite pieces, but they are hard to find!
Simple, sweet, and vintage…it doesn’t get more “summer” than that!
