Today I decorated my dining room for summer and now I am ready for the sunshine!
Summer is almost here…whoooooot!!!!!
{That’s how I feel about that.}
I seriously can’t wait for the school year to wrap up and for summer to begin. I’ve been daydreaming about lazy days, slathering Miss L. with sunscreen and playing with her at the pool, boat rides, taking some vacations, and just doing whatever I want to do.
The Lazy Summer Days
And by “doing whatever I want to do”, I mean doing whatever Miss L. lets me do between pushing her on her swings and playing “tea set”. And by playing “tea set” I mean pouring water out of her tea kettle all over everything….So yes, I’ll be doing whatever I want in between wiping up messes. #itwillbeamazing
Last weekend she helped me trim some of these purple flowers out of our bushes and put them in the blue ball jars they add a pretty pop of color to the summer dining room?
I love going outside with my scissors and getting some pretty flowers, or as I like to think of it, “free decor”. 😉
I also added some pretty palm leaves around the house. They make me feel like I’m in Florida or something. And I like it.
How are you decorating for summer?

Love the dining room decor and the wall paint, is it a gray? I am getting ready to paint and want to use grays what color is it?
April Hoff says
Thank you, Mary Jane. Yes, it’s gray. It’s called “Vapor Trails” and it’s by Benjamin Moore. 😉
Morgan Guthrie says
Love it! What size mason jars are in your box?
April Hoff says
Thank you, Morgan! I would say that they are large. They aren’t the smallest size, but not the biggest either…does that help at all? 😉

I love that whole room, but especially the chalkboard in front of the old window frame – so unique! I love the old mixed with the new making it light and airy instead of drab and dull.
