If you have ever looked looked at your tea towels and thought it would make a good throw pillow, then this post is for you!
I should title this post: Thank goodness my mom knows how to work a sewing machine and will sew me up some throw cool throw pillows with two days notice. That would be a super-weird title, actually, but it would be very appropriate.
You would think that I’d have figured out how to work a sewing machine by now, but every time I try, I end up cursing and with a broken bobbin. We all know you can’t curse in front of a three-year old, because then said three-year old will be heard repeating that curse word at inopportune times.
Not that I would know.

Did I just admit to cursing in front of my three-year old…how did this post go downhill so fast?
Anyways, I digress. This post was supposed to be about me finding these amazing tea towels at Home Goods the other day. I went a little crazy in the throw pillow department and ended up with six new throw pillows and a whole new color scheme. I am an absolute sucker for throw pillows, always have been…always will be. Is what it is.
I wanted one more cool pattern in the mix, and these tea towels were the perfect pop of coral. I also love the pattern…kind of a cousin of the polka-dot, no? My mom literally folded them in half and sewed up the three sides. She added some stuffing…and tada! A throw pillow was born. Do you like how my mom did my blog homework for me this week? Thanks, mom!!!
This shot gives you an idea of the the new throw pillow situation happening around here. If you want to learn more about mixing throw pillows you can read some tips here: Mixing Throw Pillows
Also…are you seeing little peeks of the NEW WOOD FLOOR???? While we were on vacation, the flooring fairies came and ripped out all of our carpet in the living room and eating area and the linoleum in the kitchen and the tile in the foyer. These fairies not only ripped out the old flooring, they also put a new wood laminate floor down. After three years of living in this house, the flooring of my dreams has finally become a reality. It looks amazing, and I will take more pictures soon and post ’em up for you to see.

This is a brilliant idea! I love the patterns and how marvelously they work together. Great project! I love a good find and TJ Maxx. Moms are the best, and I would be lying if I said mine had never helped me with (or totally done it) my homework! 😀 😀 Thanks for sharing! Now I need to find some new tea towels….
