Spring is in the air. It’s kind of mixed with snow, but it’s in the air, I just know it. As spring slowly makes it’s way to Northeast Indiana, I’ve been busy changing things up around the house for the new season. I’m joining a whole bunch of really talented bloggers today for a fun spring blog hop hosted by Krista from The Happy Housie. Check out the bottom of this post for the whole lineup.
I’ve been posting my spring home tour in bits and pieces for the last few weeks, and today I’m pulling together all of my spring home pictures for a comprehensive spring home tour. We’ll begin in the living room.
This space is a fun one for me to decorate. The mantel is pretty basic, and there isn’t really a whole lot going on above it, so I typically use an old window frame to add an architectural element to an otherwise pretty boring spot. 😉 For spring I layered a new piece of art in front of the old window. I love the blue tones of this painting, which I found at Marshall’s.
On either side of the window frame and artwork I used a combination of cutting boards, blue vases and greenery. I never would have occurred to me to use cutting boards on a mantel, but I was inspired by Jojo after an episode of Fixer Upper to raid my kitchen for mantel decor.
Let’s be real. There is no shortage of plants in my house right now. Let’s also be honest. Not a one of them are real. April does not do real plants.
I created this fun vignette of DIY Succulent Embroidery Hoops in our entryway. I decorate and redecorate this space all the time, but I must confess, this might be my favorite look yet! I used fishing wire to hang these hoops over the backs of the windows and DIY Song Lyric Sign. I wanted to create the illusion that the hoops were floating in front.
These beauties are going to stay around awhile…I’m thinking they can definitely take me through the summer. Maybe I can add some floating pumpkins in the fall…ha! 😉
In the eating area I transitioned my tabletop for spring by rearranging a few things and adding some fake grass. Someone commented that it looked like I have a garden on my table top. And I really liked that. 🙂
I used various kinds of pots at different levels and added a string of Edison bulbs to the spring tablescape. My six-year old daughter loves to switch them on in the evenings.
The whole table looks greener than anything outside at this point, so we’ll just enjoy our tabletop garden for now
Let’s move along to the kitchen, shall we?
Sometimes I’ll add some spring decor to the kitchen, but this year I just decluttered and used some purple tulips to make our kitchen feel fresh for spring.
I really love the purple color of these tulips. They look so pretty with the gray and white kitchen.
We finished our kitchen makeover just about two years ago. It was a long process, but I’m still so happy with how it turned out.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my spring home tour! If you were inspired, don’t forget to pin it for later!
