Last week I told you about how we’re giving our guest bathroom an overhaul to start the new year, and today I thought I’d share the bathroom before renovation begins. It’s really a tired bathroom that got a minor face lift back in 2014.
At that time, I painted the walls and the cabinets (which have been abused, as you can see.) I hung a new mirror and replaced the old lighting too. It was fine. Meh.
I also made this DIY Towel Rack from an old piece of pallet wood and some hooks. Remember how chic it was to make things out of pallet wood in 2014?!
I am SO ready to rip out this linoleum and vanity, and basically start from scratch in this bathroom!!!
Here is what the bathroom looked like before the 2014 face lift:
A little princess potty was the decorative focal point…ha!
Jared and I are going to start actually ripping things out this week, so I’ll have more progress to share soon! To see my post from last week about our plans for the guest bathroom overhaul, click here.
As a reminder, here is my inspiration pic!

Wow! It’s such a great space, just definitely needs your style put into it. I love the layout of the room. Can’t wait to see those gorgeous pieces installed!
Stunning!!! I’m sure you are so eager to yank everything out lol. Can’t wait for this all to be done, because this design is awesome!
Wasn’t this the same post as the last one?!
Nope! Last week I shared my plans, and this week I shared my “before” shots. Thanks!
